Why LED Installs Go Wrong
Cheap LED downlights and incorrect dimmers cause most of the flickering and buzzing issues I get called out to fix. Here's what matters:
- IC-rated fittings for insulation contact — required in WA ceiling spaces
- Trailing-edge dimmers for LEDs — leading-edge dimmers cause flicker
- Correct wattage calculations — too many lights on one circuit causes issues
- Quality LED drivers — cheap drivers fail within 2 years
- Proper cable connections — no dodgy plug-in connectors
