Data Cabling FAQs
Why hardwired instead of WiFi?
WiFi is convenient but unreliable for video calls, large file transfers, and anything latency-sensitive. A Cat6 cable gives you consistent gigabit speeds without dropouts. If you work from home seriously, hardwired is the way to go.
Can you move my NBN connection point?
Usually yes. The original installer often puts the NBN box wherever is easiest for them, not where it makes sense for your home. I can relocate it to a more useful spot and run cabling from there.
Do I need a dedicated circuit for my home office?
If you're running multiple monitors, a desktop PC, printer, and other equipment, a dedicated circuit prevents you tripping breakers when the air con kicks in. It also isolates your work gear from the rest of the house.
